Many Questions - One Answer

We ascended to the mountain top, seeking the one unifying answer to life's persistent questions.  The guru looked up and spoke only this:  "MU Periodicals page".

Only one source is needed to answer many of the questions we receive at the Library.  Does the library have a particular journal?  Do Marshall users have access to a particular online journal?  Which Marshall library has a particular journal issue on the shelf?  All of these queries are easily answered by linking to the MU Periodicals page.

MILES Catalog

You can search by subject heading, key words, title, author or call number.  All Marshall libraries are included in the database.  Also, you can search journal titles and find issue specific holdings information.  The circulation module allows our staff to check books in and out quickly and reliably.

Document Delivery Request form now available in a fill-in PDF format.

List of New Books added in the 2007-08

Nature(1997-Current) and the New England Journal of Medicine(1993-Current) are now available Online from any Marshall workstation.

A quick listing of the Library's Journal Holdings are now online.

The Tips for Advance PubMed Searching page offers a comprehensive listing of commands and qualifiers that are not displayed on the PubMed menus.  For example, how would a searcher find authors who had only one initial, limit retrieval to nursing journals, limit to articles that were free and online full-text, float  subheadings, or search for a substance name?  Go to the Tips page to find out.

Recently introduced from the National Library of Medicine. The Marshall Health Science Library's journal holdings are now linked to PubMed searches. You no longer have to go to another source to discover whether the Library holds an article that you want.

However you must use the following URL:

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez/query.fcgi?holding=wvmuhslib

when you start your PubMed search. You can save this URL to your Favorites list or click from this page.

A "Local Print Collection" button will appear when you display either the "Citation" or "Abstract" formats. Click on the button to see volume specific holdings records. The absence of the "Local Print Collection" button indicates that the journal volume is not held by the Library.
